ABOUT JUMPSTART
Our mission at JumpStart Therapy is provide the communication tools necessary for our clients to live with confidence. We aim to help our clients find their voice through dedicated and specialized therapy programs designed with theirindividual needs in mind. We feel that the comfort of in-home or in-daycare therapy sessions brings the best success. However, before we get started, we will schedule a virtual meeting for parent(s) and your child to meet their new therapist, and for your therapist to get a better understanding of the child's needs. By working as a team, a completely individualized therapy plan is created that will nurture the strengths and improve the weaknesses of the your child. A licensed speech-language pathologist will provide therapy in homes, daycares, and preschools, giving the opportunity for the child to work within the familiarity oftheir routines, spaces, and belongings. Further, home sessions provide an opportunity for parents to engage in therapy activities to better implement lessons beyond therapy sessions. We know the importance of a positive, motivating, and gentle attitude in order to help our clients feel comfortable enough to reach their potential.
ABOUT ME
Since becoming a speech-language pathologist, my life-long desire for working with kids has evolved into a passion for teaching kids the necessary communication skills for them to fully participate and enjoy any environment. In the years since I graduated with my Master’s Degree from the University of South Florida, I have evaluated and treated a largevariety of deficits, diagnoses, and disorders in a variety of settings, including daycares, schools, homes, and in-office. Myclients continue to gain the communication skills and confidence needed to live to their fullest potential through dedicated, individualized, and client-led therapy. I truly enjoy watching clients grow into their new skills and gainconfidence in the process!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Once you have a referral, go ahead to the client portal to access our paperless intake forms. There you can also book your virtual consultation. At JumpStart, we begin with a one-time, 15-minute, virtual consultation for you to get to know your child's future therapist and to explain what your concerns and goals are for your child's individualized therapy plan. By conducting this virtual meeting, it provides valuable time for the therapist to understand how to best utilize the initial evaluation session. Next, the first session will be scheduled to complete an in-home evaluation to assess your child's skills and weaknesses to further individualize the therapy program. From there, your therapist will write up a full therapy treatment plan that details the intentions for the first six months of therapy. Every six months, goals are reviewed to note progress, and every year your child will undergo new testing so we can get a full framework of their strengths and weaknesses in communication skills.
